Susan Cousins
At the piano
Susan Cousins was born in New England, spent many years in Florida and with her family settled in Virginia.
Her music study began as a young child with years of classical training under a European concert pianist, the University of Hartford and Virginia Commonwealth University.
She moved into other genres of music and is especially happy when performing cocktail music, including pop, gospel, blues, ragtime, and jazz standards.
A continual study of jazz piano under Dan Hearle and Jamey Abersold program pianists has been exciting and she is now an integral part of At Water’s Edge, a band that performs in the Northern Neck of Virginia.
She has also begun composing music so watch for the new releases and cover songs in her unique style.
She plays solo engagements, has a trio, and also performs with the jazz combo.
